SPHERE helps JetBlue reduce risk and achieve Identity Hygiene

As part of its commitment to strengthening AD security, JetBlue partnered with SPHERE to identify and reduce AD risk. It deployed SPHEREboard SecureAD to bring new visibility and understanding to its AD environment, discovering and mitigating critical issues.

JetBlue, a leading American airline, puts a high priority on using advanced technology and robust cybersecurity measures to ensure safe, streamlined operations. Like many organizations, JetBlue struggled to maintain its Microsoft Active Directory (AD) environment efficiently. SPHEREboard SecureAD identified known and unknown areas of risk, revealed security gaps, and executed streamlined remediation workflows. The result? JetBlue eliminated unnecessary access, simplified AD management—and reduced the risk of breaches and other potentially damaging events.

Key Results:

  • Streamlining access management. JetBlue confirmed ownership for 90% of AD groups and accounts, streamlining access management and security.
  • Cleaning up AD. SPHEREboard enabled JetBlue to identify and remove inactive or redundant user groups and accounts, such as empty groups and disabled accounts—which constituted nearly 25% of its total AD accounts.
  • Boosting operational efficiency. SPHEREboard enabled retirement of about 75% of identified outdated groups/accounts and supported campaigns to verify all privileged accounts, enhancing overall security and operational efficiency. These improvements have significantly contributed to lowering technological debts and enhancing overall security at JetBlue.
  • Saving time. SPHEREboard’s streamlined workflows enabled JetBlue to save time that would otherwise be spent on manual reviews and processes.
