Earlier this year we launched a new diversity program, SP(HER)E–pronounced SPHERE HER- aimed at promoting opportunities for women entering careers in cybersecurity. This summer, we teamed with All Stars Project, Inc. to complete the first chapter of this new initiative! For six weeks, three female interns were immersed in the day-to-day operations at SPHERE, teaming up with each of our departments, shadowing leadership, and tackling departmental challenges from Marketing to HR to Project Management and more. It was an honor to work with these intelligent young women and one of them offered to share their thoughts on being a part of the program!
This summer was the first time I interned at SPHERE. At first, I was a little nervous to meet new people and be in a new corporate environment. On my first day, everyone was so welcoming, and it made me feel good to be accepted. We learned in depth how the company ensures the safety of sensitive data. I am so fortunate to be able to have met people from so many departments teaching me their expertise. I have gained so much applicable knowledge that will help guide me throughout my educational career and have met so many people that catered to my needs. Meeting so many people of different backgrounds and how they got to SPHERE was very inspirational. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to be here this summer, collaborating with other interns I could relate to. I hope Sphere continues to empower those in need of support and resources.
